LifeMiles Bonus Miles Summer-End 2018 Sale

LifeMiles loves to hold miles purchase promotions, like the one we’ve posted about the last LifeMiles bonus sale. Their previous offer not only gave extra miles but also had redemption rates for select routes discounted.

As summer is ending, the frequent flyer program has outlined their newest promotion.

This new sale will be going on a few weeks until September 18th (CST/GMT-6). It looks like the bonus varies, so you may want to login to check what is available to you.

LifeMiles Bonus

The prevailing common bonus rate seems to be up to 125% extra miles. However, some members like the Asian Miler may be getting a slightly better 130% maximum bonus miles, like so:

LifeMiles Summer-End 2018 Promotion

Whichever rate is offered you, you get the smallest bonus (105%) when buying 50,000 LifeMiles or less. You get a higher 120% more (or non-targeted 115%) for getting up to 100,000, or at most 130% (or non-targeted 125%) for purchases of at least 101,000 LifeMiles.

Keep in mind you can buy a maximum of 200,000 LifeMiles in a year. If you’ve bought any miles earlier this year you can only purchase the remaining amount, but the maximum limit count excludes any LifeMiles bonus purchased. Of course, you can always create another account to buy more.

Buying 101,000 miles would bring you a cost of 1.435 cents per mile (cpm). We’ve seen slightly lower LifeMiles cpm before, but this is still, in our opinion, good value.

What can you get with those miles? Take a good look at their Star Alliance awards chart and you may — subject to seat availability — book tickets like:

  • Singapore (South Asia) to San Francisco (North America)
    • First: 99,000
    • Business: 78,000
  • Kuala Lumpur (South Asia) to Hawaii
    • First: 75,000
    • Business: 51,000
  • Manila (North Asia) to Tokyo or Seoul (North Asia)

One can book a one-way flight from Manila riding Business to Seoul on Asiana or to Tokyo on ANA for just US$322 (22,500 x $0.01435). That’s great value right there; for the price, you get to fly on this:
